The venue
The Fruit Storage
In former times, the seminar room was used for fruit storage from the orchard right outside the door. Especially sour cherries, but also pears and apples were grown and harvested here and offered an alive, active workplace for generations.
Today, pastures and wild nature have replaced the intensively driven fruit fields, and a co-housing project of four grandmothers is tending the land and the buildings. You will find fruit trees, a vegetable garden for self-sufficiency, and livestock. Enjoy the sheep with lambs, horses, chickens, a cat, and a dog on the premises, designed and maintained with inspiration from the permaculture principles.
Enjoy a silent walk under the blooming cherry trees during the breaks, or listen to the rich birdlife and the singing creek near the seminar room.
Where to stay?
Bed and breakfast is available in the village Havnelev at walking distance.
Rødvig Ferieby offers double rooms or cabins with 2-3 bedrooms, 3 km from the venue.
If you prefer, you can pitch a tent or reserve a mattress in the shelter for the workshop days in the natural surroundings by the venue. A separate bathroom is available for our campers.
How to get here
Arrive by car: Insert Vissemosevej 14, 4673 Rødvig Stevns in your GPS and enjoy the trip through rural Denmark.
Or enjoy public transportation from Copenhagen by train to Køge Station and, from there, the local train to Rødvig, 5 km from the venue. You can either catch a Donkey Republic bike for hire or ask us to pick you up.
Stevns is known for its rich soil and agricultural dominance in the landscape. This has to do with the high percentage of clay and chalk in the soil, chalk that you can see by the coast where the white cliffs, Stevns Klint, are visible. Stevns Klint is a Unesco World Heritage Center for its archeological history. This is the best place in the world to find evidence for the end of the dinosaur era, caused by the meteor that hit the Earth in the Mexican Gulf 65 million years ago.
Only 9 km from the venue, you’ll find Stevns Klint and Stevns Klint Experience, a modern exhibition center that tells the story of the dinosaurs’ extinction.
