2-part workshop for NVC practitioners and coaches

NVC processes in coaching

what is it about?

As practitioners of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), we utilize a range of exercises and processes that are highly effective in practising and integrating Nonviolent Communication. The NVC DanceFloors®, roleplays, the four chairs and deep empathy are all aimed at strengthening the awareness of feelings and needs and preparing individuals for conversations and actions.

Our primary intervention in coaching involves asking open-ended questions that stimulate clients to explore themselves and their situation. We have found that NVC processes can be helpful in a coaching context, and this is the focus of our upcoming workshop.

During this workshop, we will explore how NVC and coaching intersect, and through live demos showcase the effectiveness of these processes. You will also have the opportunity to practice your favourite NVC processes in a coaching format, which will add to your palette of how to support your client’s self-connection and way forward. If you are a coach without former experience in NVC, this is your opportunity to expand your midwifing toolbox.

The ultimate outcome of NVC processes in Coaching is a deeper understanding of how you can support your clients while recognizing their unique resourcefulness. This includes clients who may not have an awareness of or vocabulary for their feelings and needs. As experienced NVC trainers and coaches, we utilize a range of exercises and processes that are highly effective in practising and integrating Nonviolent Communication while staying in integrity with the basic assumption in coaching that our client is resourceful.

We acknowledge that coaching is a discipline and a profession distinctively different from NVC empathy. At the workshop, we will not discuss the distinctions, and expect you to be familiar with the coaching approach to supporting people. Please read more or contact Pernille Plantener.
